LICENSE TO ILL

I’ve recently realized, and come to terms with, the fact that I’ve been coasting on talent for far too long and my concrete skills are sorely lacking. Uploading things helps keep me motivated. Nepeta has kind of become my subject du jour, mostly because she’s playful and I imagine her being fairly fit, which helps when I’m focusing on things like muscle groups and perspective. Between this and Tuesday’s Nepeta drawing, I think I’m going in the right direction! I want to paint this sketch, but I feel like I’ve drawn myself into a corner - I have a bad habit of not thinking about backgrounds and the like, especially not backgrounds in any sort of top-down perspective, so I feel kind of lost? We’ll see what happens.
