I’ve been dicking around in milkshape and crazybump and TSR Workshop and photoshop kind of smearing and throwing things together until something worked, honestly. It’s to the point where I don’t really understand how I managed this as much as my thrown-together methods managed to work on two glasses. It’s weird, because it worked on these, but not on the others I tried, which had completely different errors??

I honestly don’t know why changing the color channels would cause an invisible/opaque lens and a pure-red visor with the correct texture on the other side. That doesn’t make any sense!! All I did was separate the color and alpha channels so each lens/fade side could have a color applied. I still don’t understand what went wrong and I’m just going to be satisfied in testing the two that worked because modding TS3 is an absolute nightmare compared to TS2.

I got mine about ~5 months ago, and I haven’t had to replace anything yet. I do know that it only uses battery when you’re using the pen, it doesn’t use power when it’s in a resting state. I vaguely remember reading that it lasts 6+ months of heavy use somewhere in the monoprice tag when I was considering buying it. Not sure how accurate that is, but mine’s still running strong on the crappy off-brand battery included that I’ve never heard of.

I’d estimate maybe two AAAs a year if you use it regularly? Maybe?? I don’t think it’s too bad.

I’ll put it this way: it’s very, VERY good for it’s price.

I wrote up my first impressions on it here. Honestly, I’d rank it above a wacom bamboo but slightly below the intuos. Some people prefer the monoprice, but I think the intuos is overall the better tablet, slightly. I can’t really remark on any other brands or models, since I haven’t used any others than those three in the past five years or so. Personally, I’m a horrible, violent whirlwind of destruction and I generally need equipment that is easily replaceable. I bought my monoprice tablet when I accidentally snapped my intuos pen in two, when I found out that the largest, nicest monoprice cost less than the replacement wacom pen.
