Requests at the speed of molasses, guezadilla’s TV Girl. Today’s goal: less hard edges, more bleeding and replicating wet paint applied to wet paint. Somewhat successful?? Maybe???

Part II of requests and my journey to figure out believable digital watercolor, tumblr user spicypoop’s OC Robert. Sorry dude, you just get a boring naked headshot because he ended up being my “how the hell do I do skin and hair” test. I’m kinda getting there, but the wet edges on his face are just a little too hard for good watercolor, I think? They looked good at first but the more I look at them they seem just a bit too harsh, especially for the paper texture I’m using. The ones around his mysteriously unpainted shoulder/arm are way more accurate.

Request number one out of four, tumblr user gaythan’s Robodile Space Pirate.

I’m trying to make a set of brushes, settings, and textures that imitate brush inking, watercolor, and gel pen highlights respectably well. I think this is a decent start, but I still have a lot of kinks to work out! It’s half tools and half technique, and I have to keep reminding myself “no, you can do that on a computer but it’d work differently on paper.”

Sarah convinced me to do gijinkas again, congratulations Sarah you finally got me off of my ass and got me drawing after like a month, even if it’s just a 3/4th view bust. It feels both weird and good to drawn after so long, like rusty gears sloooowwwllyyy starting to turn again.

Claude is a rapidash that does deliveries for his family’s business, and the business his family owns is one of those pawn/resale/barter ones that the History Channel loves these days.

I don’t usually do requests unless I specifically ask for them (and still don’t do them sometimes) but you luck out, dear anon, because holy moly do I love Cartoon Planet and Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

The sitcoms are dead to me, though.

My draws from the Houstonstuck drawmeet yesterday!! It was a blast as usual. I wish I could had gotten better photos, but alas, I’m not that great at taking photos in dimly-lit restaurants. There were a couple of drawings that just did not end up with good photos, sorry dudes.
